This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on yourbalancedfood.com website and our apps (Your Food Journal) for iPhone and any other devices and platforms.
Information we collect
New Your Food Journal app accounts are created using an email and password. Email addresses are used for logging in, password resets, responding to emails that you initiate, and sending notifications that you request. We may send promotional emails if chosen to do so to give you better insights and tips related to the app.
We store information that you provide about your meals, journal entries, photo images for meals, and water logs to sync this information between the website and your devices.
We DO NOT collect anonymous statistics or insights. We only record data that YOU provide to us as part of the normal functionality of the app and websites.
Technical basics
If you upload photos and entries (Journal log, meal log, water log) to Your Food Journal, we need to store them until you delete them.
If you subscribe to a password-protected podcast, we need to store the credentials you provide in order to keep it updated.
We use user authentication tokens on the app to keep you logged in.
Storage
Your Food Journal stores your data in a database to sync and keep track of your entries and records as part of the normal functionality of the app. If you at any point would like us to delete your data you can reach out to us at yourbalancedfood@gmail.com.
No Ads and analytics collected
We do not show any ads or use any analytics when using Your Food Journal.
Information usage
We use the information we collect to operate our app Your Food Journal.
We do not share personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to accomplish Your Balanced Food’s functionality.
We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.
In the future, we may sell to, buy, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets.
Security
We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure. For instance, all communication with the app Your Balanced Food require two factor authentication as well as secure measures using username and password login that is encrypted. We also ensure that upon log out that all your data is cleared and not kept in cache.

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

We never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
